Students and faculty may need to use alternative parking locations from Friday to Sunday. The Jehovah’s Witnesses convention is coming to the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.

Half of the O’Connell Center west lot will be reserved for the convention Friday, according to a news release. However, students, faculty and attendees may find additional parking in the O’Connell Center main parking lot, Garage 7, the commuter lot on Gale Lemerand Drive, the UF Law east and west commuter lots and Fraternity Row. On Saturday and Sunday, in addition to the parking spaces offered Friday, spaces can be found on a first-come, first-served basis in the O’Connell Center north lot and garage, the engineering complex lot and the UF Bookstore and Welcome Center garage.

The event will draw about 7,500 people throughout the three days, according to the release.

“I believe a lot of students may go home, which will alleviate some of the problem. So perhaps it will balance out,” said 21-year-old UF food and resource economics senior Jacob Bogue.
