Some UF web services were down for two hours Monday.

The password reset service and myinvestiGator, which allows faculty to submit research reports for federal and state grants, experienced an outage. MyUFL’s finance module, which oversees CASHNet and student modules, was also down. All services were restored by 1:20 p.m.

UF Information Technology Communications Manager Tracy Gale said the HTML code was not loading correctly for the finance module’s pages. Anyone who was trying to make a payment through CASHNet encountered problems. The information, however, was displayed correctly.

“Nobody saw a bill for $1,000 when it was just $10,” she said.

Gale said the disruption came from something that went wrong during regular system maintenance Sunday morning, but she doesn’t yet know what specifically caused the outage.

Associate Controller for UF’s Bursar Ruth Harris noticed the CASHNet system wasn’t working Monday morning. She said she did not receive any complaints from students or faculty about the outage.
