UF is asking students to take an online survey to qualify to register for the 2013 student season football ticket lottery.
The UF Division of Student Affairs sent an email Sunday asking 30,847 students to take the Student Experience in the Research University survey, also known as SERU. All undergraduate students who are at least 18 years old can access the survey on ISIS until July 20.
UF telecommunication sophomore Christine Merrill, 20, is one of 1,752 who completed the survey by noon Monday.
“It was kind of tedious,” she said, “but it’s so worth it for the football tickets.”
Marie Zeglen, assistant provost and director of institutional planning and research, said the survey takes about 20 minutes to complete.
Participants will also be entered to win an iPad, Beats Solo headphones and iTunes gift cards.
The survey contains questions about students’ personal and professional development.
“This is really, really important so [departments] can be aware of student impressions and experience,” Zeglen said.
Zeglen said UF is hoping to set a new standard for research universities by achieving a 75-percent response rate this year.
“UNC-Chapel Hill is close, and they could catch us,” she said. “We’re Gators. We know how to do this.”
