Tacodilla lovers are going loco without their Mexican food truck on campus.

The La Lola Loca food truck will no longer operate daily by the North Lawn. Gator Dining announced the change last week on Twitter.

District marketing manager for Gator Dining Services Jill Rodriguez wrote in an email that the food truck will only make appearances at special events. She said La Lola Loca participated in a food truck rally in January and will participate again in March as well as at the Santa Fe Spring Arts Festival in April.

Updates about the food truck’s appearances will be on Gator Dining’s Facebook page and Twitter account, Rodriguez said. She said the truck is also available for catered events on and off campus.

The food truck rolled onto campus in September. At the beginning of this semester, La Lola Loca changed from a moving truck to a fixed location on the North Lawn, extended its hours and expanded its menu.

UF biology sophomore Sophia Neuber, 19, said she misses the food truck on campus. She said she prefers La Lola Loca to other food venues like Burger King and Chick-fil-A.

“I have looked for it a few days now with some hunger cravings only to have to satisfy my appetite elsewhere,” Neuber said.
