US Marshals task force arrest man wanted on gun, drug charges

A man wanted out of Levy County on multiple gun possession and drug charges was arrested Friday afternoon in northwest Gainesville.

The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force charged Bryan Greenlee, 36, of Gainesville, with four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession/sale/delivery of a firearm with a serial number removed, possession of cocaine with intent to sell and possession of cannabis, according to a U.S. Marshals news release.

The task force’s investigation began in 2012, when the Levy County Sheriff’s Office issued an arrest warrant for Greenlee when deputies learned he was in possession of a Ruger Mini-14 rifle, Glock 21.45-caliber handgun, .22-caliber pistol and .22-caliber rifle, according to the release.

Greenlee was previously arrested for grand theft auto and cocaine possession, according to the Florida Department of Corrections’ website.

At about 2 p.m. Friday, officials spotted Greenlee at an ex-girlfriend’s house, located in the 1500 block of Northwest 54th Drive.

Task force members and a Gainesville Police K-9 unit surrounded the house and ordered Greenlee to come out.

Greenlee complied and officers arrested him without incident, according to the release.

Police later booked him into the Alachua County Jail at 3:45 p.m. Friday.

As of Sunday night, he remained in custody with a $235,000 bond.
