Stripes. On shirts, on shoes, on dresses or even sweaters, these little lines of color always remain fashionable despite the season. This fall and winter is no different.
One reason why stripes have been a fashion staple for so long is because of its versatility. They have the ability to allow an outfit to stand out or blend in with everyday garments. When they come in bright colors, thin lines, big bold stripes or neutrals, it’s hard to stay away from them. There are striped looks that go well with spring and summer and those that exemplify the fall and winter seasons. Therefore, they are never out of sight.
Another variation that stripes take on is that they can be in different directions. Vertical and horizontal are the most common, but they can also be made in a diagonal pattern.
Diagonal stripes work well with basically every body type. While horizontal stripes can add more curves, vertical stripes slim and elongate. It all boils down to each body type and what kind of image you’re looking to achieve.
Regardless, no one can have too many stripes in their wardrobe. There is always room for more and if there isn’t — make some.
