Dressed-Up Shirts
Dressed-Up Shirts

Some t-shirts are so cozy and soft that we find it impossible to keep them off our backs. While it is not fashionable to drag the same T-shirt and jeans look into every day of the week, it is possible to incorporate your favorite casual tees into more structured and chic outfits.

The easiest way to give life to the “just threw this on” T-shirt-and-pants look is by picking a plain tee and adding textured or funky printed pants. The laid back look of the tee will offset the crazy cool patterns of the pants, making it look attractive but not flamboyant.

Leathery or shiny pants are a go-to for this styling tip because they’ll attract attention to your lovely legs. Accessorize with some cute flats and a bold handbag in an electric blue or fiery red color.

Leopard print pants are also a hot pick because of the edginess they bring to the simplicity of a tee. Take it up a notch with some tough black boots that will give the look a more Guns N’ Roses feel.

We’re always looking for new ways to spice up an outfit for the office or a meeting. Turn heads at work with a comfy tee, textured pants and a formal blazer that has light and dark floral or mixed prints. These prints are very useful for fall because they are feminine, but they’re more serious and match the darker weather.

Create another formal look by adding a tee to a matching coat-and-pant suit. This look is a bit more masculine and should be done with a suit that has defined patterns so that it grabs attention. Fall tones such as burgundy, brown or forest green work really well for this style.

Party it up with your favorite tee and lighter-hued leggings or pants. Nothing screams, “let’s dance” better than gold or silver leggings. Throw on a chic furry jacket or shawl to keep you warm, and add a pop of color with a simple red accessory to complete this mysterious yet wild look.

If you’re looking to center your outfit on stylish tees, look no more. H&M has great quality and low-priced basic V-neck tees in neutral colors that will go great with any look this season. If you’re willing to spend a little more, Urban Outfitters has a collection of round neck tees that look super soft and comfortable. You can also shop locally at Target for deals on their Mossimo tee collection, or at Urban Thread for tees from UO, Anthropologie, J. Crew and more!
