Three words. Three simple words that sum up your childhood, valuable life lessons, the original bromance and one of the greatest love stories ever told.
No, those words are not “I love you.”
They are “Boy Meets World.”
The only thing more requested than a dislike button on Facebook is for Cory Matthews and his friends to come back to television with a bang. Well, it will happen, but this time, he’s an adult with a teenage daughter named Riley.
The Huffington Post released an article Monday officially announcing Disney’s “Girl Meets World,” the new spinoff series of the classic sitcom.
Actors Ben Savage (Cory Matthews), Danielle Fishel (Topanga Lawrence) and other original cast members will appear on the show. “Boy Meets World” creator Michael Jacobs is also behind the project.
Although the sequel is just starting to develop, it feels like Christmas came early. This childhood dream-come-true will feature parallels to the ‘90s series, including an edgy best friend (remember Shawn?) and Cory taking on the role of a history teacher, like his former neighbor Mr. Feeny.
Speaking of the mentor who blessed the world with infinite wisdom in words similar to fortune cookies, a great quote comes to mind:
“What comes easily goes just as easily,” he said.
This may be true, but one thing's for certain: The spirit of “Boy Meets World” isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
