After weeks of debate and indecision, both Jacoby Brissett and Jeff Driskel were on the field for the first snap of Saturday's season opener against Bowling Green.
Brissett was under center for the opening play, only to have Driskel take over on the second snap and finish the drive.
The Gators won the toss and elected to defer. After Bowling Green punted, Florida took the field with Brissett at the helm and Driskel split out wide.
Coach Will Muschamp said Monday that the starter would play the first quarter before giving way to the No. 2, who will play the second quarter.
At halftime, Florida's coaches will reevaluate the situation.
As kickoff approached, the two quarterbacks were side-by-side warming up in the southeast corner of the field, alternating reps on every drill in typical pregame fashion.
When the team broke into 7-on-7 drills with less than 30 minute to before gametime, Driskel took the first snap. He and Brissett alternated from there.
Driskel also took the first snap of the team's 11-on-11 drills, again alternating with Brissett to close out Florida's warmup.
Even the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium public address announcer kept the mystery alive right up until gametime, listing both Brissett and Driskel as the game's starter at quarterback.
