In between all of the true learning you will be doing for the next four years — like how to properly perform a keg stand and handle the subsequent hangover — remember, this is college and you do have to take classes.

Every major has to take enough classes to add up to 24,000 words of Gordon Rule Writing and achieve some combination of biological science, physical science, composition, diversity, humanities, mathematics, international and social and behavioral courses.

Some courses you will take at UF are magical and can act as double-, triple- or quadruple-whammies by fulfilling multiple requirements, thus allowing you more time to hit on that super-hot someone who lives in your dorm.

A class like LIT 2110, Survey of World Literature: Ancient to Renaissance, is a serious multi-tasker, fulfilling composition, international and humanities credits and 6,000 words of the writing requirement.

A popular course for freshmen is ANT 2301, Human Sexuality and Culture. It knocks out a diversity and a social and behavioral credit and 4,000 words. Plus, this class lets you satisfy that burning passion to say “penis” and “vagina” in class in front of your professor. (I know, college is awesome.)

You can still have fun while being efficient with what courses you take.

Classes like AST 3043, History of Astronomy Through Newton, fulfill your normally boring physical science credit while taking care of humanities and international credits. And it would also be a great excuse to ask that special someone from your dorm to go star gazing.

To meet your biological science credit, you could take PLP 2000, Plants, Plagues and People, and take care of humanities credit as well.

Didn’t have a great time with Spanish or French in high school? Impress your friends by taking Introduction to Haitian Creole Linguistics, HAT 3700. You’ll get humanities, international and diversity credits while gaining 2,000 words toward the Gordon Rule Writing and learning a still-useful language that’s not as mainstream.

No one ever said you, as a helpless liberal arts major, had to take Computational Linear Algebra to get your math credit out of the way. Thankfully, there’s MGF 1106, Mathematics for Liberal Arts Majors, and PHI 2100, Logic.

If you’re economic in how you choose your courses, then you’ll be able to pass all of your classes and still have a good time at UF.

The only thing you’ll need a study partner for is anatomy.
