Spring brings opportunities for dates outside

Picnic At Eureka Lake

Spring has officially sprung, bringing with it warmer weather, blooming flowers and, as always, a terrible allergy season for Gainesville. Aside from Spring Break, the absolute best part about this season is the opportunity to go on dates that involve being outdoors. So go ahead and pack up your winter coats, lose the jeans and grab a bathing suit. The beautiful weather is calling your name and offering you plenty of new and exciting date ideas.

Instead of going out for lunch, you and your date could take a trip to a local park and have a picnic. Try to find a park that has a nature trail, lake, pond or designated areas for outdoor sports so that you can both enjoy the scenery without getting bored. If you live on a coast, you could even have a picnic date on the beach followed by beach volleyball. Make sure you pack plenty of food — you tend to get hungrier faster when you spend time outside.

If you and your date are thrill-seekers, you can always make a trip to an amusement park or carnival. Amusement parks not only offer the excitement of roller coasters and rides, but they also usually have entertaining dance shows and performances, depending on the park you visit. It’s hard to have a boring date at a theme park when you’re too busy anticipating the thrill of the rides, so you won’t have to worry about stagnant conversations.

If theme parks aren’t for you or for your date, you can still enjoy much of the entertainment they offer by visiting a zoo. Zoos have plenty of exhibits and animal shows, and the unpredictability of animals can offer you and your date plenty of good laughs.

These are just a few possible date ideas, but of course, the creative freedom is up to you. For a few more date possibilities, FNC iMag offers other ideas that will get you and your date out and enjoying the fresh air. Spring is the time for renewal and a chance to get rid of winter gloom, so ditch the movie theaters and go on dates that help you grow as a couple.
