Silent Disco Tour at Dance Marathon; Breathe Carolina comes to Gainesville

This Saturday, Silent Disco Tour will be hosting another Silent Disco event here in Gainesville. For those of you who familiar with their events, you are probably just as excited for this as I am. To top it off, Silent Disco Tour will be partnering up with UF Dance Marathon.

Dance Marathon is a non-profit organization that benefits Shands Children's Hospital, Gainesville's Children's Miracle Network Hospital. Dancers’ registration is already complete. There are 800 signed up to dance in this year's event.

The event will be located in the top floor of the O’Connell Center and will go from 2:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Sunday. Registered dancers will be allowed into the event when doors open. The rest of the general public will be permitted to enter at 4 a.m. Guest check-in occurs at Gate 1 for other who wish to attend.

Like their previous events, only 300 headphones will be distributed at one time. I highly suggest showing up early so you are fortunate enough to grab one because this Silent Disco should be the biggest one yet. Additionally, this week’s event is introducing a new aspect featuring a Grooveshark user playlist set up on one of the three channels to choose from. The artist and DJ lineup, as well as set times, are as follows:

2:30-3:30 a.m.: The Gainesvillains v. DJ Ruby with Grooveshark user playlist

3:30-5:30 a.m.: The Twylight Zone: featured silent performance with Grooveshark user playlist

5:30-6:30 a.m.: Hau5 Music Entertainment presents Jordan Blate v. Shawn Castro - Aeriform

“Silent Disco Tour is revolutionizing the music experience,” notes Gainesville Silent Disco operations manager Cris Bachmann. Attendees have the unique opportunity to choose between various live DJ sets to listen to in their very own private — and silent — dance space. A new business and growing trend here in Gainesville, Silent Disco Tour is the perfect outlet for electronic dance music lovers. Bookings for summer and fall semesters for public and private events are now being accepted.

If hard electro-house music isn’t your scene, I have something else to share with you. This Thursday night, Glory Days Presents and KISS 105.3 FM is bringing you a very special show at Double Down Live. Dubbed the Blackout Forever Tour after the release of their latest hit single “Blackout,” off their third full-length studio album “Hell Is What You Make It.” Thursday night’s show lineup will feature artists Of Valleys, Romance on a Rocketship, Ashland High, with headliners Breathe Carolina and The Ready Set.

If you are not familiar with headliner Breathe Carolina, they are an electro pop duo from Denver, Co. Comprised of David Schmitt (vocals/guitar) and Kyle Even (vocals), their live performances incorporate a wide variety of niche genres and remixes that most would agree to be a distinctly diverse sound in today’s musical climate.

Breathe Carolina

There is nothing that Breathe Carolina won’t experiment with and, in doing so, they hope to break the norms of modern-day music culture. A blend of house-infused electronica backed by rock and hip-hop based influences, this is one band you need to check off your music bucket list. Below is the official video for the hit single “Blackout.” The album single, which climbed to No. 18 on the Top 40 chart, was released last July by Fearless Records.
