A Gainesville man was robbed while stting in a car Monday night.
Jevin D. Hilliard, 18, of 2231 NW 65th Road, was charged with robbery with a firearm, and he remained at Alachua County Jail with a $26,000 bond Tuesday evening.
Sean W. Birstein, of Alachua, was sitting in his car in the Pine Ridge Apartments parking lot at 9:45 p.m. Monday when Hilliard opened the passenger-side door. Hilliard sat down and aimed a silver revolver at Birstein’s head, according to police.
“Give me your f--king money,” Hilliard said.
Birstein handed over nine $20 bills, and Hilliard took off. Birstein then drove to a nearby Kangaroo Express and called 911.
A GPD officer found a man matching the description Birstein had provided walking on Northwest 26th Street soon after. The officer stopped Hilliard, and Birstein later identified Hilliard as the man who robbed him, according to police.
After his arrest, Hilliard denied the crime, though he said he had been in the area and had heard arguing.
