Satire site College Humor ranked UF No. 2 on its list of the top 10 biggest slacker colleges in the U.S., according to a Huffington Post story.
It said students at the schools on the list maximize fun while minimizing effort.
Pennsylvania State University topped the list. Virginia Tech came in at No. 3, followed by the University of Oklahoma and Auburn University.
Educational consultant Steven Antonoff, who wrote "The College Finder," a book containing more than 700 college-related lists, disapproves of the rankings.
"I don't know that there are ways to measure slacker-ness," he said.
Antonoff likened the slacker list to the Princeton Review's party school rankings.
UF is the only Florida school ranked, but five Southeastern Conference universities made the list.
The popularity of football could be to blame for UF's ranking, said 21-year-old English junior Will Henry.
"I think this is such a big football and partying school, you kind of get the feeling that nobody's doing any work," he said.
Blair Erich, a 21-year-old psychology senior, said UF students know how to balance work and play.
"We're winners," she said. "We're always happy, always partying."
