Twenty of UF's most eligible male engineers competed at the second annual Mr. Engineer pageant on Friday night at the Reitz Union Rion Ballroom.
The engineers competed for a PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 or Wii gaming console in front of an audience of about 90.
The pageant, hosted by the Society of Women Engineers, consisted of four rounds: engineering wear, formal wear, a talent show and a Q&A.
After dressing up in engineering costumes, which included an aluminum foil robot, a Super Mario brother and Albert Einstein, the men returned to the stage dressed in suits and ties.
Nineteen-year-old engineering sophomore Amanda Eifert's favorite part was the talent round.
"These are people you see in a professional setting all the time, and then you see them up on stage singing and dancing," Eifert said. "It's so funny."
Engineering freshman Evan Iler, 19, won the competition by one point.
Iler said he spent plenty of time practicing for his vocal performance of "Hallelujah."
"Shower time counts, right?"
