As the sound of students' voices echoed in the Reitz Union Colonnade, a Palestinian flag flapped in the wind next to Sara Mohamed as she spoke with another student.
Mohamed, an 18-year-old biochemistry freshman, and other members of Students for Justice in Palestine were among about 100 student organizations participating in the Student Organization Fair on Wednesday.
The fair, organized by IDEAL, allows students to get information from student organizations, said Nadirah Jones, executive director of IDEAL.
Marielena Dias, an 18-year-old international food resource economics and political science junior, liked being able to speak with organization members in person.
"It's different from reading [about] a club online to when you actually come out and see all the tables and meet the people," she said. "I'm one of those people that have to feel something in order to want to do it."
The Student Organization Fair will continue from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the Reitz Union Colonnade and the Reitz Union North Lawn.
About 100 organizations are expected to attend today, Jones said.
Nourish International representative, marketing freshman Nicol Perez, 18, looks on as fifth-year industrial and systems engineering major Daniel Argov, 22, signs up for Nourish International's listserv at the Student Organization Fair on Thursday afternoon.
