The University Athletic Association voted to increase the price of a non-student football season ticket to $280 for the seven home games in the 2012 season.
The ticket price will increase by $3 per game, said UAA Assistant Athletic Director Mark Gajda.
Student tickets will not be affected, Gajda wrote in an email.
The UAA board voted for the price increase on Dec. 14.
The board postponed a planned increase in booster contributions because of the lagging economy, Gadja said.
UAA needed revenue to help offset rising tuition and athlete stipend costs, so the board approved the increase for season tickets. This price increase will yield about $1 million.
The association is confident that this move won't hurt season ticket sales, he said.
Anna Vanlandingham and her husband, Ron Gilmore, have held at least eight season tickets since 1979. The couple disagrees with the price increase but plans to renew the tickets.
"Hopefully the booster club will notice who actually stuck together with the Gators in all kinds of weather," she said.
