Armed with a microphone, a biting sense of humor and an expansive knowledge of pop culture, comedian Billy Eichner takes to the streets of New York City.
The groundbreaking new show "Billy on the Street" challenges and combines everything Americans know about comedy television, the classic game show and even some social norms.
In the show, Billy asks a bashfully middle-aged woman if she would "like to have a three-way with Michael Bublé and Josh Groban?" She was more than shocked by his crudeness.
The structure of the show is as follows: Eichner walks up to pedestrians, prompting them to play a new pop-culture trivia game where they could win real money. Contestants then compete in three rounds of questioning. The third round is a subjective question, the answer of which has to match Eichner's personal answer.
If contestants have difficulty answering questions, they have a few options. They can call a woman, ask an Asian, beg a stranger or Tweet Eichner's Twitter followers for help.
Crude, funny, loud, witty, smart and outrageous, Eichner has all the ingredients for a smash hit. Carrying him to his success is the Funny or Die network, known for its politically charged and honestly funny viral videos.
More recently "Billy on the Street" featured a new segment called "Get into the Snuggie with Billy." This special consisted of Eichner asking former Saturday Night Live cast member Rachel Dratch to "Name 20 White People in 30 Seconds," while they were both suited in burgundy Snuggies.
According to Eichner's Twitter account (@BillyEichner), Joan Rivers will also appear on "Billy on the Street" soon.
The sixth episode of "Billy on the Street" airs tonight on Fuse TV at 11 p.m.
