A hot commodity in the smartphone world, the iPhone 4S is losing its cool when it comes to battery life. Many users of the phone and the iOS 5 update say they have seen dramatic decreases in the longevity of the phone's battery, according to a Computer World article.
Since its mid-October release, the iPhone 4S has made many consumers glad they are "Team Apple." However, some users blame the phone's excessive application additions and updated operating system for a decline in its battery performance.
Customers have vented to fellow users about their dissatisfaction with the iPhone's battery life on the Apple Support Communities website. The thread, titled "iPhone 4S Battery Life?" has more than 3,700 posts.
However, health science freshman Audi Mendez, 18, said she's fine with the iPhone's battery life.
"I have noticed that the battery drains a little quicker," Mendez said, "but it's worth the updates that the phone has."
Mendez owns the iPhone 4 but has the iOS 5 update, which some customers believe is the cause of the battery drain.
New to iPhone and Apple smartphone services, Jenna Blechman, 22, said she has yet to experience issues with the phone or its battery life. The psychology senior recently purchased the iPhone 4S and said she was "more than excited" when she heard the phone became available to Sprint carriers.
"I believe it lives up to the hype," Blechman said. "The speed of the [operating system] and the phone's ability to do so many things at once is great. The only thing I'd complain about is not having an LED notification like my old BlackBerry does."
Whatever the issue may be, we are sure Apple is working out the glitches, but we may have to wait until the release of the next iPhone to see the results.
