Halloween season lets creepy music roam

October is fully in swing, and that means it's time to break out your Halloween "spirits." This means busting out those creepy albums you only get to blast acceptably one season a year.

No other artist quite covers Halloween music as his or her main genre quite like Voltaire.

No, not the French author!

If you're familiar with the old Cartoon Network show "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy," then you've probably heard at least one Voltaire tune.

He wrote and performed the song "BRAINS!" in the episode "Little Rock of Horror" and the opening credits for the first movie to be made out of the show.

While these might be his most pop-culture friendly tunes, Voltaire has eight albums full of his dark cabaret music, with plenty of contributions to compilation albums on the side.

So when you're picking out the perfect music to play at your monster mash, Voltaire might just be the perfect option.

Posts in The Shuffle appear on Fridays.
