Engineering faculty members and national experts will speak Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Engineering Innovation Summit at Emerson Alumni Hall.

The College of Engineering will sponsor the event, which is designed to promote entrepreneurship and raise awareness about the Innovation Institute and its goals.

The institute opened last summer, and is meant to develop entrepreneurial culture and innovation skills.

"The summit is an exploration to bring together the leaders of the innovation institute," said Eric Sander, director of the institute.

Speakers include experts from government, academia and industry.

"By bringing these thought leaders together, [we can] build upon plan for strategy for the Engineering Innovation Institute and put it in a place to positively impact students, faculty and staff in terms of moving talent and technology to [the] marketplace," Sander said.
