The UF campus is now only a tap away.
University Relations released its campus website Wednesday for iPhones, Androids and other Internet-friendly phones.
The site, m.ufl.edu, includes features such as a campus map, a bus tracking system and a university calendar. Students can also access E-Learning and view their holds and schedule through ISIS.
"This is what students expect and need," said Steve Orlando, UF spokesman.
With the start of the fall semester, the site may prove to be a valuable resource.
Orlando said students expect to be able to use phones to access important information instead of carrying around maps and bus route guides.
"The demand is going to move over to what you get with this," he said.
About 10 people, most of whom were from UF Information Technology, developed the site by using university-wide input.
Bruce Floyd, UF Relations' social media specialist, helped design the site's layout.
Floyd said the main goal was to create a website students could use on the go.
The setup of the mobile site, he said, is more helpful to students than the standard UF website because the latter is more for people who are looking to apply to UF. The mobile site is for students who are trying to get to class on time.
The site has a link at the bottom of the page to a feedback form where people can give suggestions for more features they'd like to see.
"We did this to try and help the students," Floyd said. "We're going to constantly iterate and update and make it better."
