4-seed Florida rolled over No. 2-seed Alabama 16-2 to force a
deciding game in the semifinals of the 2011 Women’s College World
Series on Sunday afternoon.
The
Gators set a WCWS record by scoring 11 runs in the first inning,
sending 14 batters to the plate. Their 16 runs also tied the record
for most runs in a WCWS game -- matching their 16-3 loss to UCLA
last year.
A
trip to the national best-of-three final will be on the line when
the Gators meet the Crimson Tide again at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
