As the countdown to Common Grounds' closing draws nearer, there are still some acts who are willing to stick with the venue until the very end.
Enter Go Radio, a four-piece outfit from Tallahassee comprised of Alex Reed on guitar, Steven Kopacz on drums, Matt Poulos on bass and vocalist Jason Lancaster (ex-Mayday Parade) on guitar and piano.
The band will be playing Friday at Common Grounds, using the show as a way to introduce potential fans to their music before they head out on the Vans Warped Tour later this summer. Go Radio hopes to generate some additional buzz for their first full-length album "Lucky Street" as well as join countless other acts who have rocked the Common Grounds in the venue's long history.
"Normally when we've come to Gainesville, we've played at 1982, but our booking agent decided for us to play at Common Grounds this time," front man Jason Lancaster said. "Gainesville is really awesome for us and we love playing here."
Friday's show features additional acts Sparks the Rescue, This Century, Select Start, Paint Me Irrational and opening guest Camryn Wessner.
"Everyone who's going to be at the show will be playing with us again this summer, with the exception of Wessner," Lancaster said.
Go Radio will be sharing their brand of honest pop rock this Friday at Common Grounds. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance, with a $2 cover at the door for those under 21, and is open only to those over 18 unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
