The spring semester is finally coming to an end, and I can’t help counting down the days — scratch that — hours until I take my last final exam. And when I say last final exam, I don’t mean my last exam before the next semester begins. I mean my last final exam ever. It’s only a matter of 11 days — 264 hours — until I’m lying on the beach without a care in the world. But before I can get to tanning and job applications (I’ve always been good at multitasking, I should add that to my resume), I have to get through two final exams and a final project. With all of this school work keeping me busy, I haven’t had time to worry about what really matters: What am I going to wear to graduation?

I finally took an hour break from school work a couple days ago and headed downstairs to my favorite Gainesville boutique, Calzatura. I knew boutique owner Elizabeth would have the answer. Already expecting me, Elizabeth had several dresses picked out. There was one particular nude Ark & Co. dress I had been eyeing (stalking) on the boutique’s Facebook page. I immediately tried on the dress, but being the indecisive shopper that I am, I couldn’t pass up trying on all of my other options as well. A half hour later, I was back in the Ark & Co. dress with a pair of platform pumps to get the “full effect.” I was sold. My next move was to snag a pair of platform pumps that gave me the same feeling.

I am going to accessorize with some gold jewelry, possibly with coral or green accents, such as bangles/bracelets and earrings to finalize my outfit.

I have been waiting for this day for a really, really long time, and now I can finally graduate in style and with a touch of sophistication. So, fellow graduating Gators, when looking for your perfect graduation look, remember to look for something on the classy, timeless side rather than trendy, because we all know your mom is going to be blowing up 8x10 photos of you and putting them on her refrigerator for the next 20 years (not to mention sending them to every relative you have).

Well, Gators, let me know what you think of my graduation outfit. I’ve really enjoyed sharing my thoughts on fashion with you all over the past two years. If you’d like to continue reading my musings on fashion and beauty, visit www.vivalafashoin.blogspot.com
