For the first time since 2005, No. 5 Florida (30-5, 7-4

Southeastern Conference) dropped its fourth-straight game.

After getting swept last weekend by No. 2 Georgia, UF got

dismantled 10-2 in Lexington by No. 23 Kentucky (23-7, 9-3 SEC) on

start of the season after allowing a season-high five runs against

Georgia last weekend.

The Wildcats rocked Rogers for 10 runs on 11 hits and three walks,

as the young righty suffered her third loss of the year.

Kentucky jumped out to an early lead on Brittany Cervantes’ RBI

double, but the scoring was just getting started.

Samantha DeMartine and Meagan Aull hit three-run homers as the

Wildcats pounded six extra-base hits on the night.

While Rogers struggled mightily, Kentucky starter Chanda Bell was

dominant.

Kelsey Bruder and Brittany Schutte hit solo homers, but the Gators

managed little else against Kentucky’s top starter.

The hard throwing righty struck out 11 batters, ringing up Schutte,

Kelsey Horton and Ashley Snedeker twice.

The Gators only managed three other hits —all singles— as the

bottom of the order failed to produce.

UF’s Nos. 6-9 hitters went a disappointing 1 for 9 with five

strikeouts.
