UF comedy club president headlining group's last Gator Nights show

This week marks the last University Stand-Up Comedy Club show with Gator Nights of the semester.

It’s also potentially the last show that Tim Keck, the club’s president, will be headlining in the Orange and Brew.

To headline a show is to close out the entire show. It’s an opportunity to show off to an audience the progress you’ve made as a performer. It’s a coveted position, and one that comes with a lot of respect.

The group gives its members certain amounts of minutes, based on progress and experience, to perform in a show. The headliner will take the most minutes at the end of the show to end the evening.

The team will be competing against the stand-up team from Florida State University on Sunday, where Keck will be representing UF in the Rooftop Comedy’s National College Stand-Up Competition.

The club’s show this week is in conjunction with the Gator Nights festivities, for people on campus who aren’t participating during the Relay for Life event in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.

Relay for Life’s doors open at 4 p.m., and the club’s show starts at 9 p.m. People who are planning on staying in the O’Connell Center through the night will be locked in at midnight. Doors will be closed, and only participants that have registered online will be able to regain access to the event.

Support one of Tim Keck’s final shows with the club on Friday, and then continue raising money to fight cancer!

On Sunday at 7 p.m. at Common Grounds, come out and support UF’s stand-up comedy team of champions in its fierce battle against FSU, and help the team progress to the next round of competition.
