Just two days after earning both wins against Mississippi State,

freshman Hannah Rogers put on one of her best performances of the

year against Ole Miss.

UF’s No. 2 starter threw a brilliant one-hit shutout as the Gators

(28-1, 5-0 SEC) won in dominating fashion 8-0.

Rogers exhibited her trademark control and efficiency, needing only

41 pitches to get through six innings.

While she only struck out two batters, the Rebels hit just two

balls to the outfield, as she induced 14 groundball outs in her

14th win of the year.

While UF didn’t have its usual offensive explosion, it took

advantage of the Rebels’ poor fielding and lack of control,

stealing a season-high six bases.

The Rebels committed four costly errors and starting pitcher

Brittany Barnhill struggled to find the strike zone, issuing five

walks.

After being shut out the first two innings, the Gators’ patience

paid off as Michelle Moultrie scored on Megan Bush’s bases-loaded

walk in the third.

The Gators added two more runs in the fourth, largely due to

defensive miscues by the Rebels.

Right fielder Kelsey Horton reached on an error by second baseman

Natalie Nimmo, and was replaced by Ensley Gammel.

After designated hitter Ashley Snedeker singled and stole second

base, Gammel scored on an error by catcher Kelly Nolan.

However, the Gators saved some conventional scoring for the final

inning, scoring five runs on four hits.

Senior Aja Paculba, who hit in RBI single in the fourth, crushed a

two-run homer to left, her ninth of the season.

Despite striking out twice, freshman Cheyenne Coyle made her lone

hit count, smashing a two-run shot to cap off the scoring

onslaught.
