Nontraditional manicures
Nontraditional manicures

I’m a huge fan of the color black. It’s slimming, it goes with everything and it looks good on everyone. However, with the spring weather’s arrival, it’s time for us to put away (some) of the black and start embracing bright colors again.

I’ve always said that a great—and cheap—way to show off vivid colors is with nail polish. Spring nails are traditionally painted in corals, pinks and many other cheery colors. This season, however, is a bit different. Beauty editors and runway stylists alike are showing the usual bright nails, but with a twist.

The latest Sephora catalog features its new Sephora by OPI Nail Colour - Glee Collection. Teaming up with the popular TV sensation “Glee,” Sephora’s new nail polish line features bright blue (“Slushied”), bright pink (“Diva-in-Training”) and bright purple (“Miss Bossy Pants”), among others. To show off its new collection and the latest nail trend, Sephora created a French manicure pairing “Slushied” with “Diva-in-Training” tips.

In addition to Sephora, models at a Tibi runway show were recently spotted replacing the traditional white tips of the French manicure with hot pink tips

These looks may be a bit more difficult to do on your own than a traditional manicure, but they will definitely stand out. Let me know if you try any of these trends or any other non-traditional manicures. I would love to see them and feature them on my blog. I’m thinking of trying the hot pink tips myself. I’ll let you know how it turns out!

Only two weeks until spring break! Stay tuned for next week’s post when I discuss the latest swimsuit trends. You won’t want to miss it!
