A 10-week international vegetarian cooking workshop will begin today.

The classes will be taught by two Hare Krishna cooks at the Bhakti House, 1414 NW Second Ave.

Participants will be charged a one-time fee of $108, which includes 10 hands-on classes, dinner and a copy of the cookbook.

The workshop will be taught by Andres Salim, a second-year nursing student, and Alysia Radder, a post-bachelor religion major. Both have been vegetarian for about four years and are self-taught cooks.

“We are not going to lecture people,” Salim said. “Some will be cutting, some will be frying. But everyone will be doing something.”

Participants will learn how to make delicacies from all over the world including India, Greece, Italy and Japan. They will also learn Krishna Lunch recipes such as salad dressing and halava.

The class is open to anyone and will be accepting participants until next Wednesday. To register, e-mail krishnagator@gmail.com with contact information.
