Grammy-nominee B.o.B to perform Saturday at UF

O’Connell Center doors will open Saturday at 6 p.m. for a B.o.B concert featuring musical artists J. Cole and Wale.

Student Government Productions is co-sponsoring the concert with the Black Student Union as part of Black History Month, according to Kyle Calhoun, SGP’s chairman. Calhoun expects about 6,200 people to attend.

Tickets are $15 for students and $30 for non-students. They can be purchased at the University Box Office until the day of the concert.

B.o.B will be paid $55,000 for the performance.

Calhoun said SGP wants to bring in fresh talent with more well-known artists like B.o.B so students can help the new artists grow.

Drake performed a few years ago when he was just making it big as an artist. He said they paid him $8,000 for his performance.  Drake now charges a minimum of $150,000 per show, according to Calhoun.

“It’ll be cool seeing these artists now,” he said about J. Cole and Wale.
