Coupled up or going solo: the right Valentine's Day outfit for you

Whether Valentine’s Day means a hot date night with the man of your dreams or a wild girls’ night out, the perfect outfit is almost as essential as whom you’re spending the evening with. Even though it can sometimes be a stressful holiday, I promise you deciding what to wear this holiday will be the least of your worries.  So, quit worrying about what to buy your significant other, or for you single ladies, where you’ll be spending Singles Awareness Day. Instead, take a few minutes to read this post and envision what you’ll be wearing come Monday.

Dinner for two

If you’re spending the evening with your other half, nothing will make you feel sexier than a little dress. Opt for an empire waist or a draped silhouette that floats away from the body. I mean, it is Valentine’s Day, so why not indulge in that romantic candlelight dinner, as well as the box of chocolates that your valentine bought for you? I mean, it would be rude for you to not eat at least half of the box in front of him.

All the single ladies

If you’re one of those girls who loathe this time of the year and firmly believe it was created by Hallmark, well, you are not alone. So band together your group of single, like-minded friends and head out to one of the many singles’ nights that are happening around town. Since you won’t be focused on devouring chocolates like your “taken” friends, you can opt for a more form-fitting, flirty dress, such as Motel’s Cony Dress. Contrary to the clichéd popular belief, there’s no written rule that you must wear red (or pink!) on Valentine’s Day. The Dalphine dress, another sexy little number from Motel, will have you forgetting what day of the year it is in no time.

So, whatever you choose to wear –or do—I hope your Valentine’s Day is enjoyable. If you feel like sharing your V-Day outfit, I would love to see them and feature them in future posts. Send your photos to ashleylara@ufl.edu.
