I take offense to comments people have made about UF having “the worst fans on the planet.”
Florida football consistently has among the highest attendance numbers every year.
The boos are a sign of frustration after putting our hearts and souls into these teams year after year.
Terrible fans don’t bother showing up if they know their team is going to struggle.
We are not “bandwagon” fans, either, as some other self-righteous observers may say.
Fans continued to support a young, four-loss team in 2007 even though the production on one half of the ball was clearly lacking.
We know what this team is capable of, which makes it all the more painful to watch.
Booing or leaving early is a die-hard fan’s way of letting the coaching staff know something has to change. Hopefully the team can salvage what’s left of the season before apathy sets in.
