Directors of the Counseling and Wellness Center welcomed visitors to the grand opening of the new building Wednesday afternoon.
The opening ceremony featured speeches from center directors, Student Body President Ashton Charles and University President Bernie Machen.
Staff gave tours afterward, introducing guests to the different departments and showcasing the many spacious therapy rooms.
A mental health fair was also held Wednesday on the Reitz Union North Lawn, helping to promote the services at the center.
Students were able to ask counselors general psychiatric questions or visit a booth where they could monitor their heart rate and sweat production.
Due to budget cuts, the Counseling and Wellness Center merged with the Student Mental Health Center when it moved into the new building in May.
The new building houses both centers and Gatorwell on the intersection of Radio Road and Bledsoe Drive, near the Southwest Recreation Center.
Benton said the relocation has had no effect on the student attendance.
"They are finding us just fine," he said.
