Earlier this evening, Pastor Terry Jones canceled the Dove World Outreach Center's planned burning of the Quran, but he announced late Thursday that the event is suspended.
During an early-evening press conference, Jones said he will fly to New York to discuss plans for an Islamic cultural center near ground zero.
Imam Muhammad Musri, president of the Islamic Society of Central Florida, told reporters he would accompany Jones to New York to discuss the mosque.
However, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, a leader on the proposed Islamic cultural center in New York, hasn't confirmed Jones' involvement in the plans.
So far, the planned discussion has not been confirmed by officials affiliated with the proposed Islamic cultural center.
More details to come.
