You can't say the man doesn't have goals.
As President Obama announced the end of the American combat mission in Iraq from the fancy-schmancy, newly decorated Oval Office in his address to the nation Tuesday evening, an onslaught of new issues came forward.
Topping that list were revamping the economy because apparently stimulus packages, national rebate programs and financial bailouts were not enough to get us to buy stuff; successfully ending America's mission in Afghanistan; and ending the nebulously defined War On Terror.
And if that wasn't enough to fill one man's plate, President Obama wants to, for real this time, bring peace to the Middle East.
Is it us or are these peace pow-wows becoming more and more like trying to sit through "The Neverending Story" every year?
We're with you, Mr. President. We love peace more than $5 footlongs (how's that for a stimulus plan?). In fact, we feel the world could use maybe even a little bit more of that whole peace thing.
But how realistic are these talks?
It doesn't typically spell out a clean agreement when both warring parties are largely opposed to substantial compromise.
Since the beginning of time, well, no, more like since the U.N. bullied its way through the Middle East and gave Israel its own state, our newspapers, radios and TVs have been plagued with reports of war in the Middle East.
We can only hope President Obama has a few tricks up his sleeve because that's exactly what the world needs right now - a little magic.
