Coach Urban Meyer is determined to find a solution to the agent issue.

He took part in a conference call with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell Thursday to discuss the problem.

Meyer, who has already closed UF practices to help alleviate the problem, was joined by Alabama coach Nick Saban and Ohio State coach Jim Tressell, among others.

"I loved it.,” Meyer said. “I loved the fact that you have everybody involved and everybody wanting to do right.”

Saban has urged the NFL Players Association to get involved in order deter the agents from engaging in potential NCAA violations. He banned NFL scouts from Crimson Tide practices earlier in the week.

"You don't have to be a brain surgeon to figure this thing out now, I mean you want to stop some kind of unethical, illegal activity, how do you do it, you punish them,” Meyer said.

READY TO SCRIMMAGE: The Gators will hold their first scrimmage Saturday.

Meyer said he will be looking for playmakers and to solidify the final offensive line spots.

"I love the team so far,” he said. “I like what's going on right now. I get to stand back and watch practice. I've seen a lot of effort. We're not very good right now but I like what's going on.”

INJURT REPORT: Meyer  had good news on the injury front.

Offensive lineman Matt Patchan, who suffered a hairline fracture in his wrist, is scheduled to have his cast removed and begin running Saturday.

Also, wide receiver Chris Rainey returned to practice Friday after being held out the past couple of days because of an accelerated heartbeat. He did not engage in any contact, but Meyer did not rule him out of the scrimmage Saturday.
