One day after benefitting from the best-of-three format in NCAA doubles championships, UF’s No. 5 team of Marrit Boonstra and Allie Will found itself on the losing end of a third set.

Tennessee’s top-ranked duo of Caitlin Whoriskey and Natalie Pluskota downed Florida’s senior-freshman tandem 2-6, 7-5, 7-6.

The quarterfinals loss closes out a strong career for Boonstra.

The Dutch senior leaves UF with a 75-22 record, highlighted by a 24-4 year with Will at the No. 1 court.

Will, a native of Boca Raton, has two potential doubles partners returning for the 2010-2011 season.  She went 10-2 with fellow freshman Lauren Embree and 1-0 with sophomore Claire Bartlett.
