• Messy pranks:
1. The Sprayer
This one’s a little old, but it usually turns out well. Take the sprayer nozzle on your kitchen sink and tie a rubber band around the handle. When your victim turns on the sink to wash the dishes or their hands, they’ll get an unexpected face full of sink water. This one’s just water, so it won’t be too hard to clean up.
2. Hold This
This one takes a little skill, some balance and a persuasive streak. Fill a bowl of Tupperware container with water (or another liquid, depending on how mean you are). Standing on a chair or step ladder, put the lip of the container to the ceiling of your apartment. Grab a broom and press the handle to the bottom of the container, holding it to the ceiling. Carefully climb down from the chair while holding the container to the ceiling with the broom and call one of your unsuspecting roommates. Tell them to hold the container to the ceiling, just like you’re doing. Now, walk away and take the chair with you. Your friend or roommate won’t be able to get the container down with out the chair. Inevitably, they will give up and the container will fall on them, soaking them with the water.
3. Fountain Soda
Take a needle and thread and string about four Mentos together, leaving a few inches of string at one end. Tie a knot at the other end to secure the Mentos. Put them through the top of a two-liter bottle of soda, holding the untied end of the string. Screw the cap on the bottle to hold the string of Mentos, suspending them above the liquid in the bottle. When your roommate unscrews the bottle’s cap, the Mentos will drop into the soda, shooting a fountain of soda through the kitchen.

1. Drive-thru
Go to your least favorite fast food joint’s drive-thru. Order a meal. Drive away.
2. Blow-out
Tape a balloon to the right rear tire of your roommate’s car. When they back out, it should pop, providing a few minutes of entertainment as he or she tries to figure out which tire blew out.
3. Coinage
Apply super glue to one side of a quarter or other coin, stick the coin to a busy sidewalk and sit and watch while people try to pry it off the ground.
• Bathroom Humor
1. Bathroom Barrier
Place plastic wrap under your roommate’s toilet seat. You can figure out the rest.
2. Water works
Lift the lid off your roommate’s toilet tank. Find the pipe that refills the tank after flushing and reroute it to point out of the tank, toward the front of the toilet. Tape it to that side of the tank. When your roommate goes to flush, the toilet will return the favor, soaking them.
These pranks work most of the time, but it’s not our fault if they don’t. Use careful judgment and remember other people are reading this, too.
