With the Southeastern Conference Championship Tournament less than two weeks away, the Florida men’s golf team has one last chance to get back on track for competition after a strand of poor performances.
The Gators will start competition today at the Bancorp South Intercollegiate Tournament in Jackson, Miss. at the Reunion Golf and Country Club course.
This will be the Gators’ last event of the spring before the SEC Championship Tournament.
UF has finished seventh, 14th and eighth in its three competitions since winning the SunTrust Gator Invitational in Gainesville on Feb. 14.
The Gators were ranked No. 3 after finishing first in the tournament but have fell since then.
Even with their fall in the rankings, they will still be the highest-ranked team in the tournament.
The two-day event is hosted by Ole Miss and will feature 15 teams, four of which are from the SEC, including Florida, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt.
The Gators will start with a shot-gun round and complete 36 holes on Monday before playing the final round of the tournament on Tuesday.
