What do you get when you throw 90 bands on six different venues in Gainesville? You get Total Bummer, Gainesville’s biggest do-it-yourself music festival.
Total Bummer features bands from all over the Southeastern, and groups are coming from as far as Wisconsin to take part in the three-day music spectacle. The lineup includes 15 bands who are native to Gainesville such as Averkio, Nervous Systems and Quadrophones. With the genre variety in this festival, there will be something to suit everyone’s tastes.
Total Bummer is an effort to help bands gain more attention, as most groups are either still unsigned or unknown to the masses.
The festival will run from Friday to Sunday. According to Total Bummer’s Web site (totalbummer.net), pre-sale tickets are $25 for the entire weekend and include a free T-shirt. They can be ordered online or they can be purchased at Spin Cycle. Also on the Web site is a list of bands performing and links to hear their music online.
