Surprise!
The Unite Party uses coercive tactics to get votes during Student Government elections.
It’s a tale as old as time, but that doesn’t mean it should be continued.
And we were saddened to see such glaring proof of what we always suspected.
We get it, you’re going to do what you need to do to get votes.
After all, Student Alliance party people fliered off-campus neighborhoods to try to gain that extra edge.
But when it comes to praising a sorority house that threatened to starve its already food-deprived sisters, it’s gone a little too far.
It makes sense to mobilize your Greek masses to stay in power — even Student Alliance can’t fault you for that, because they’d most likely do the same — but don’t threaten people.
Furthermore, don’t hold meetings to scare people into voting.
Whatever the newest incarnation of the Greek party’s name is, they’re always going to use their numbers to win elections.
The vast remainder of the Student Body is always going to not care and not vote.
And the underdog, indie party is always going to struggle for seats.
It’s the way of life.
So rest assured, Greeks, you’ll still have your power. Please though, for the love of God, let those girls eat.
