Less than 24 hours after being shut out by No. 10 Stanford, the Florida bats returned to form.

The No. 3 Gators (14-2) came out with a new lineup and pounded out 12 runs on nine hits in a 12-0 win over Cal State Fullerton (3-16).

Sophomore Michelle Moultrie jumped up to the two spot, as her team leading .450 batting average and her top-notch speed on the base paths make her a great option to set the table for Francesca Enea and Kelsey Bruder in the three and four spots.

This move allowed coach Tim Walton to shift freshman Brittany Schutte down to the five spot.

Schutte’s move to five is just another experiment in an attempt to protect Bruder’s spot in the lineup.

Walton has tried four different players at the five hole so far, and they have combined for just 2 RBIs and a .163 average this season.

While Schutte’s 1 for 4 day was not much of an improvement, Moultrie responded positively to her move by going 3 for 3 and scoring three times.

Two of those scores came courtesy of Enea, who hit both a two-run home run and a grand slam on the afternoon, extending her hit streak to a career-long ten. Enea leads the team with 9 home runs and 30 RBI on the season.

Junior ace Stephanie Brombacher improved her record to 11-2, throwing four innings of one-hit ball in the win.

The Gators were scheduled to play two on Saturday, but their game against Loyola Marymount was postponed to 4:30 p.m. Sunday due to rain. The Gators will also play their originally scheduled game against UC Davis at noon.
