Students should have towels in hand because the “I’m on a Boat” rapper, Andy Samberg, is making a splash at UF.
The Saturday Night Live comedian is scheduled to speak tonight at the O’Connell Center.
Samberg was paid $72,000, according to Student Government Finance records.
Doors will open at 7 p.m., and the show will begin at 8 p.m.
Accent Speakers Bureau brought Samberg as part of Jewish Awareness Month.
The event is free and open to the public.
“He is just a popular name right now, and he’s doing extremely well for himself,” said Jason Attermann, Accent’s chairman.
Instead of a lecture-style event, the show will take on an “Inside the Actors Studio” approach with a Q-and-A session moderated by Mike Foley, master lecturer in the College of Journalism and Communications and UF assistant dean of student services.
Samberg will talk about the course of his career and how he got his current job, Attermann said.
The sketch comedian, actor, rapper and writer is a member of the comedy troupe The Lonely Island with childhood friends, and now SNL writers, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer.
