I found the Student Alliance party’s recent distribution of flyers around the Plaza of the Americas and along Fraternity Row unnecessary and offensive. The flyers were placed sometimes on walls or cars (something I personally loathe), but mostly they were just thrown around on the ground.

This distribution of flyers is wrong. First of all, it is not environmentally sound. The flyers were used excessively. For a party that urges sustainability both in Student Government policy and in personal choices, I expected more. If the party spends its own money recklessly, I’d hate to see how irresponsible they act when trusted with “real” money.

I am also disappointed with the Student Alliance party and was hoping that this behavior was something that wouldn’t carry over from the Orange and Blue Party. Its unrelenting attempts to undermine the Greek community is beyond disrespectful. The Greek community is a vital part of our campus. Our philanthropic events raise incredible amounts of money for charity. We maintain academic excellence and promote leadership on campus. I call upon the Student Alliance party to stop being so negative and irresponsible.
