RealFrat.com is the newest way for college students to get perfect playlists for all of their music listening needs, thanks to a team of mystery fraternity boys at UF. The creator, Fratty McFratterson, entertains us with jam sessions and witty words of wisdom.
Avenue: Who created RealFrat.com?
Fratty: “RealFrat.com was created by a team of pledges under the direction of myself and our team of fratologists. It only took one night and a palate of copper tops to complete [the site]. We used paddles to keep the construction on pace…”
A: What’s the deal with the Web site? Any downloading involved?
F: “All music is supplied from playlist.com, which hosts all songs from other Web sites. No downloading is involved, just knowledge of inner frat life to mix the best series of songs together to maximize FPP (frat party potential).”
A: Why so secretive about your identity?
F: “Fratty McFratterson is the Frat Star that we all strive to be. This site and his commentary are a compilation of lifestyles and ideas that have been passed down for generations and lived out by thousands. The work put into this site is the work of many, not one.”
A: Album titles like “Bitches Dance,” “Let’s Bang” and “Get Big” are not your conventional playlist names. Where do the inventive titles come from?
F:“Our lives. These titles simply represent essential parts of a day in the life of any Frat Star. Each playlist is expertly tested corresponding to the activity described in the title. Our testing grounds include house parties, study rooms, gyms and sorority houses after hours…”
A: What if you’re not Greek- can you still use the site?
F: “You don’t have to be in a fraternity to be frat. Fratty McFratterson is the Frat Star in all of us, whether it takes a fifth of beam or a case of beer to realize it. Wear fratty clothes, never have an awkward moment and always stay fratty. It’s for colleges everywhere. Gainesville is just a good base.”
