About 2,000 students cruised through the Reitz Union Colonnade Tuesday for the Study Abroad Fair.
Study abroad adviser Angela Grindal said about 60 UF summer programs and about 30 non-UF programs were present at the fair.
“Students can go anywhere in the world, as long as it doesn’t have a travel warning,” Grindal said.
UF usually has about 2,500 students study abroad each year, with 1,200 traveling during the summer, she said.
“The four most popular destinations for UF students are Spain, Italy, France and the U.K., Grindal said, but the interest in Asia is increasing.
Other popular countries include New Zealand, Africa, Ireland, Australia, Russia, Argentina, Scotland and Nicaragua, Grindal said.
Miki-Lei Chung, a linguistics junior, is hoping to study abroad in Asia this summer.
“I really want to go to Malaysia,” she said. “I wouldn’t mind maybe even living there one day.”
