UF’s CPR & Safety Training Center is offering an instructional session on CPR to cap off the end of fall semester.
CPR Anytime, a non-certifying, 22-minute instructional session on how to perform infant, child and adult CPR and choking relief, will be held Wednesday and includes a free lunch. The class is held in association with UF's College of Medicine.
The cost of the course is $10, and registration is open until 15 minutes before the course begins at noon in 266 Yon Hall inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
Less than 5 percent of cardiac arrest victims survive because most at the scene do not know CPR, according to the College of Medicine Web site.
“With the skills that they learn through the course, I believe that participants will be able to increase the chances of survival for someone who is in cardiac arrest,” said Victor Martinez, the training center's marketing and community outreach coordinator.
The center also sells CPR kits that include a personal CPR mannequin, practice DVD and booklet. The adult and child kits are $30; Infant kits are $35.
