Throughout finals week, Santa Fe College students will be able to kick back and gaze at the stars between exams.
All week, Kika Silva Pla Planetarium will play four different shows each day until Friday for its first Planetarium Awareness Week.
“It’ll give students time to relax and reduce stress in between exams,” said James Albury, planetarium coordinator.
Albury, who joined the Kika Silva Pla Planetarium less than two months ago, said he decided to open the Planetarium during the day because he found that few SFC students had been inside due to shows only being available on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Each day during Planetarium Awareness Week, the planetarium will have shows at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., alternating between shows about black holes, meteors, stars and planets.
“Personally, I’ve always found planetariums to be relaxing because it is a dark environment and you can just sit back and watch the sky,” Albury said.
