Housing fair helps students find apartments, houses

Students can explore housing options during the off-campus housing fair today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Reitz Union Colonnade.

Ani Sanchez, cabinet director for housing affairs, said the fair will include information from 35 to 40 complexes and companies, including local apartments, condos, apartment management companies and real estate companies.

Sanchez said students can ask questions about leasing, the commute to campus, apartment amenities and parking.

She said the fair also helps students by bringing together all of the representatives in one location.

"Instead of driving to every different apartment complex and sitting there and speaking with them, it's fast and convenient," Sanchez said.

Apartment and condo representatives will pass out brochures with leasing information. They will also give out T-shirts, candy and prizes ranging from iPods to school supplies.
